I just got to thinkiing about the great John Lindo so I thought I'd post a couple of dance videos from contests he was in.

FYI : For anyone unfamiliar with West Coast Swing, this is a Jack & Jill. That means they don't know who their partner is going to be until just before the first song plays, nor do they know what song is going to play. They have to improvise with who and what they get. They've known each other for years, but they're not regular partners.

Jack - You might know I'm The Dancing Fool in Residence here and loved the clips.  Never heard of the "Jack and Jill" concept but know it's hard to pull off that well.  TY!

Marvin Gaye on Hollywood a Go Go, hosted by KHJ deejay Sam Riddle.  From Gazzari's on the Sunset Strip (a place I first set foot in back in 1967). Gazzari's dancers were a big attraction in the 60s.

Not from 1963 but ... always loved the song. Think this clip is from, of all places, Idaho. One of the commenters claims that is Daddy G playing the sax.

To make up for the poor dancing above, check this out:

While watching Art Laboe I noticed on the right side a story on my favorite DJ Huggie Boy so I left Art to  watch the short interview.   I used to listen to Huggie Boy during the summer until the wee hours of the morning.

Bob - For some reason the moves still work. unlike the Shindig stuff.

Joe - Have to check that one out, it's not loading right now.  She got Spike Lee's attention for "Do The Right Thing" from her dance moves.

WTF is Joe Tex wearing Grin

Jack, I'm often accused of being "face blind" when it comes to recognizing people I've seen or met before. Not an old-age thing; all my life. Only other defense is the big 80s hair.
