You got me self-conscious Doc. I didn't post first on Sutton or Phil Spector.

BTW, I was at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore on the last day of the 1982 season when Sutton beat Jim Palmer in the game that gave the Brewers the AL East crown. He went 8 innings, giving up two runs.

I checked after my post--didnt even pitch in 66WS,won a  couple  in 74 & 77 & 78. Part of his argument with Garvey was Steve blow  drying his  hair? The 1st  player to  do  it  after a game?

Doc, that's rich (about Garvey and his blow dryer) when you think of Sutton and the permanent he got in his hair in 1975 at an LA beauty salon. All those little curls! Bet the bench jockeys had a field day with that.

Garvey no way. My memory suggests Joe Pepitone as being the first to very publicly using a blow dryer in the after game clubhouse. Pep was quite the enigmatic ballplayer and personality.

Pepitone made some enemies as well. He's also managed to achieve several brushes with the law. But he had some good years for NYY.
